A view of the tanks and little fishies…

Feeding Frenzy!

They go by the scientific name of Garra Rufa, otherwise also known in non-medical terms as “Doctor Fish”, and are toothless, therefore giving only the sensation of gentle nibbling as they work hard at sucking off the dry and dead skin cells off your hands and feet. They are tropical fresh water fish, normally found among the river basins of the Northern and Central Middle East, mainly in Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran.

The fishes are only attracted to and feed off the affected areas and dead skin cells, resulting in beautiful smooth skin. As they nibble off your dead skin, they also release a small quantity of dithranol, an enzyme that helps in skin rejuvenation. This revitalising treatment has a therapeutic effect, giving you a sense of calm and reinvigorating you as it stimulates the blood flow in your body.

Fish treatment aids in the healing of various skin disorders and problems like psoriasis, dermatitis and calluses, which are not contagious and non-transmittable in water. This painless treatment emerged as a popular new trend in early 2007, which sparked off a torrent of such outlets opening worldwide, such as in Japan, South Korea, China, and Europe.

That’s me with my legs in the tank…

A very happy Scott…

We went during the 1-for-1 promotion and got quite a good deal i think…

A foot Spa can help detoxify the body in a pleasant way and get rid of the many associated problems. This is because thousands of sweat glands on the feet sit on the diversion is possible.
